Aims and Scope

Advanced Manufacturing is an area of research and application which provides the potential level in a company or system to improve their manufacturing process. It is an innovative technique which is employed to improve the quality of products. It always helps an organization with an opportunity to create a dynamic place in a competitive market. It also means an extensive use of flexible manufacturing which is related to technologies such as automation, high precision, computers, data science, electronic data interchange and information technologies.

Advanced Manufacturing is a variety of computer-based technologies which are devoted in improvement of manufacturing systems. An organization always prefers advanced manufacturing for several reasons,  such as: for producing a high level of design,  for innovative products,  for improving the manufacturing efficiency, for lowering the operating cost, for new, better and adorable products and for products that solve a huge number of society’s problems. It also helps the manufacturer to compete with today’s urgent problems, such as shorter life cycle of products and increased demand, mass markets fragmentation, etc. The main aim of advanced manufacturing is to develop the production systems in such a way that the system will be capable of creating a variety of products in small or large volumes which have both the efficiency of huge production and the flexibility of immediate manufacturing to response to the customers in an immediate manner.  

Topics of Interest

This special issue will cover a broad range of topics with the effect of advanced manufacturing in optimization. Topics are not limited to the following:

  1. Emerging Optimization problems;
  2. Manufacturing policy in advanced level;
  3. Mechanical design and manufacturing;
  4. Linear and Nonlinear Optimization;
  5. Inventory problem with EPQ / EMQ model;
  6. Inventory problem with game theory aspects;
  7. Advanced manufacturing processes for calculating material’s efficiency for a production process;
  8. Optimization process reusable raw materials;
  9. Optimizing remanufacturing processes;
  10. Advanced manufacturing and remanufacturing for a supply chain management;
  11. Developing supply-chain network design and coordination for advanced manufacturing;
  12. Impacts of advanced manufacturing on human health and environment.

Submission Deadline: 6th November, 2018

Notification of Acceptance: 9th January, 2019

Final Version Due: 9th February, 2019
